Hi, I’m Brooklyn

I am very excited to announce I have just launched The Paper Garden! Here is the dream: A bright, warm space with spacious tables, stools, vintage armchairs, Persian rugs, art covering the walls, a coffee machine and space for likeminded people to come and imagine. But… for now my dream is just a baby.

Over the next term I will be running art classes (and perhaps poetry classes too…) out of cafes and bookshops on the central coast. I’m hoping to start up regular kids art classes, a paint and sip, byo art classes and more!!So why have I called my business ‘The Paper Garden’? Well, paper is the medium we use to create – to write, to draw, to plan, to dream. And from this creativity we can grow (just like a garden) ourselves, our society and the world. I believe that creativity has the power to break down barriers, heal and empower. You don’t have to be artistic or musical, but just be willing to think outside of the box. I would love it if you could join me on this journeyπŸ“šπŸ“–πŸŒΏπŸ„πŸŒ·

My Background and Qualifications

I studied a Bachelor of Arts (1st class honours) at Sydney University which taught me about the importance of stories, myths and imagination. During this degree, I did a subject in creative writing and multiple subjects on Norse Mythology, which is one of my great loves in life.

Another of my great loves is art. My first major Art Exhibition was Art Express in 2016 which showcased my year 12 major work:

After that, in 2019 I exhibited some of my ink drawings at the launch for Philament, in which I also published my first short story.

And finally in 2020 I exhibited another drawing, “Two Thousand and Twenty” in the Byron Arts Magazine Prize:

I am currently studying Visual Arts at Sydney Art School.

I have also had lots of experience working with children. I have been running and leading in Church Sunday School programs since 2011, and I have worked as an English tutor since 2015, in which I have worked with children from 4 years old – 50 years old.

I have been teaching art classes to children since 2019 and adults since 2020.
